"Tis the Season to Take Care of Yourself

November 20, 2016

You could hear my jaw drop when a client reminded me that Thanksgiving is next week. I had convinced

myself I had an extra week. Seven glorious extra days disappeared in a blink of an eye. I thought of everything I needed to get done at work (and now running far behind) Shopping (I have not crossed one name off my Christmas list), Decorating (Didn’t I just put up fall decorations?), figure out the holiday calendar (work, visits with out of town friends, family, shopping, cooking, Gilmore Girls binge.) Believe it or not I actually love doing all of these things, but squeeze it all into a four week span topped with my extreme attention to detail and things feel overwhelming.

Stop. Breathe. It’s going to be okay.

This is the time of year we can all feel a little crazy. We might even look at this time with some resentment when we think about everything we have to do. This is your reminder to stop, breath, and know it’s going to be okay. Refocus your thoughts so you can enjoy the season.

While taking care of family, the house, and the shopping don’t forget to take care of you.  This is the best time to stop and soak up the beauty of the season. Don’t let overwhelm overtake the beauty that is all around. As Hugh Grant says in my favorite Christmas movie “If you look for it I’ve got a sneaky feeling that you’ll find love actually is all around.”

Stop. Breathe. Soak in the Beauty.

Do you want to give your loved ones and yourself the best holiday possible? Then just like that flight attendant says put your oxygen mask on before you help everyone else.  At Skin Essentials it will be a soothing pumpkin mask, but trust me it will do the trick.

Wishing you a Beautiful Holiday season

Katherine
